Items in your Collections will not show in your Watch List so I suppose it works the other way too.
Try taking an item off your Watch List and see if it will go into a collection.....but be aware that you will never see it again on your list of items coming up for sale/auction soon.
I hate the collections.....I missed buying so many items until I realised they were in Collections not on my Watch List.
