second tab opens when looking at item. its annoying and stupid

I just tried it and not happening to me.

Try clearing cache and cookies, try another browser - Chrome or Edge seem to work best with eBay

I have the same problem and I'm using Chrome. It seems that Ebay has changed something but isn't acknowledging it as a bug.
