You are better off asking this on the Buying board or the Answer Centre

As go-tazz suggets.

But in the meantime, you are obligated once a purchase is made or winning an auction.

A seller is charged fees upon a sale therefore a buyer should complete the transaction.

You can ask the seller to cancel a sale but they are not obligated to doing so, and you may need to purchase the item then resell yourself on ebay.

Otherwise the seller may initiate an unpaid item case, in which case your account will receive an unpaid item strike and you may not be able to purchase or bid for 12 months from sellers with blocks in place.

Short answer - yes. Sort of. If you don't pay the seller can and should open an unpaid item case against you. Which can and should adversely impact your ability to buy.

The time to have second thoughts is BEFORE you buy, not after. I doubt you will get any sympathy on this board, given that most of us are sellers and have learnt from experience that non-paying bidders are a PITA.

They (you) purchase items, THEN decide they (you) don't want them, leaving the onus of damage control (ebay fees) on the seller, plus the fact that the item is out of circulation until such time as the non-payment is finalised.

My advise would be for you to take a long walk on a short pier.

Is it the cookbook or the xbox game? Not that the principle changes.

I'd prefer buyers that change their mind at that stage than those that pay, then pretend there's something wrong with it in order to return, and try to get you to refund em their return postage. Now those I hate.

Earlier on, its less of a buttpain.

The onus of SNAD is on the buyer. And the cost of return postage
