Is anyone else getting locked out of there accounts?

I have been locked out of 2 of my accounts.

All for no other reason than ebay wanting me to change my password.

There was no hacking or trouble like that which they they told me there was.

Nothing more than someone with too much time on there hands and wanting to create a bit of trouble.

If it happens again I just might have to seek legal advice.

Did you get an email from eBay?

If so

Was it a real eBay email or a phising scam?

Did the email address you by name and was it in proper English?

Was there the same message in your eBay messages when you logged in?

Have you tried contacting eBay about this?

It was only when I was trying to log in to my account. The litlle box came up to say I have been temporarily locked out.

I was forced to reset and change my password to be able to access my account.

They have since locked me out of this account again, also another account twice and 2 other accounts as well.

It's just a nightmare. I have sent them an email to tell them to stop, I have had enough.

I am going to ring them as well to see if they can put a stop to it. I have threatened legal action. They are putting a strangle hold on my business with this carp.

When you try to login with your new password, it will be rejected as wrong. Try again and it should work.

I had the issue with one of my accounts a few months ago. As I save my passwords (for some things) it autofills, rejects, then works.

Quicker and easier than reaching for a lawyer. We are not yet a state of the USA, after all.

eBay simply ignore emails most of the time. IF there is a response, it is only an auto-generated bot style job which rarely has anything to do with the question

Much the same with the call center, the staff read from scripts and are famous for the line "we will escalate it to tech support' . Very rarely does that actually happen. Or if the question being asked is considered 'too hard' they simply hang up

If Dave's idea does not work, I personally think it would be far better to use the 'have us call you' option (and better yet, to speak to a supervisor)

That can happen if you've logged in from a different spot,on a different computer or eBay simply got your

location wrong.

Normally they just send an Email to ask whether it was you but sometimes that seems to get overridden at

times and it can cause issues.

Just contact eBay to sort it out.

This gives you their direct links without having to go through their rigmarole:

https://www.ebay.com.au/help/home

Just keep in mind that the Call option is only available during business hours,

(from 8am to 8pm AET Monday to Friday, and 9am to 7pm AET Saturday and Sunday).

Have us call you seems to be the best option.

Just scroll to the bottom of that page.

If you use the chat option and none of their "options" suit then select which may be closest to why you

want to contact as their "selections" are limited.
