Why is it a practice that some sellers can advertise a price, then raise it at checkout?

Why does EBAY allow sellers to put a price up for an item, eg "Leather Jacket $87.99" then at checkout, raise it $149.95? Why iks this allowed and why does EBAY blatently allow false advertizing to cheat customers??

There used to be a law to stop companies doing this. Does EBAY have a tech response to thsi frau8dulent practise?

Contact eBay and question them. Not one single ebay employee reads here

What's the item number ?

There is a function in eBay which permit sellers to list variations such as different styles, sizes, accessories etc. and they can have different prices. Were you required to make selections in the listing ?
