Did you try to put personal contact details in the message or in previous messages ?  If you did then eBay will block all communication by both you and the seller to anyone for, I think, 7 days.

Edit. It's also Friday when eBay do their tech upgrades so glitchy things can and do happen.

If absolutely nothing happened - no suspension for whatever reason and no sharing contact info - if you really cannot think of a reason at all, it might indeed be a glitch.

Are you using the eBay app or a normal computer or laptop? Some people have occasionally reported problems with the app when sending messages.

Happens on my desktop browser (firefox and edge), doesn't happen on my app.  Just an annoying bug.  I can only message on my phone.

I'm having that problem right now, and trying to get a refund from a seller. I'm suspecting the seller has done something on their end to avoid giving me a refund. I'v done nothing but follow all the required procedure, but when I tried to do another reply to them that message all of a sudden came up :Your account is not authorized to use this feature due to your account status. And now I can't use the reply feature at all for any messages! How do you fix this??? I'm not using the app, my laptop. I really still think it's the SELLER who had some kind of option to report me from their end to avoid communicating and giving a refund! Even though I did absolutely nothing to facilitate that. Really annoyed that these fraud sellers get to have their way and rip people off!! They have tried everything to avoid giving me a refund on a product that stopped working in less than 1 week! I wasn't even allowed to send it back to them! They asked me to do a video of it broken and I did! No response!  I think they're in China too. And I never order from there, only locally. They lie on here!!

Have you opened a dispute with eBay's MBG (see below) ?

If not DO IT and cease communicating with the seller except through the dispute. DO NOT close the dispute until you have your money back.

Are you logged into eBay USA or eBay Australia when trying?

You are registered in the USA and posting on the member to member forum for eBay Australia here

You have bought from that seller. They have left you feedback and it clearly says they are registered in China and that they have awful feedback

All information available before bidding/buying

If you recently changed your eBay username, try signing out of eBay completely and then signing back in.

Sometimes it takes a cycle of signing out and back in for a username change to propagate fully. Until that happens, various errors can occur.
