"As highlighted in earlier posts: Late on Friday afternoon (AEST) eBay.com.au experienced a number of access issues following routine maintenance to the site.
We can confirm that as of 8.00am AEST all issues were resolved and the site was returned to full functionality.
UPDATE: We understand that some customers were impacted by the site issues. Sellers impacted by this are covered by our policies and we are working hard to develop the resolution process to support the compensation of those affected by our service issues. We will communicate the process and eligibility requirements in the coming days.We appreciate your patience during this time.
We understand the high expectations our community has for our platform, and we sincerely regret that we did not live up to some of those expectations last night."

Yes, I had two customers get great bargains because I'm sure one item in particular would have received a better sale price.
But thanks for letting us know. It is appreciated. We sellers hate being kept in the dark....

Firstly, I would like to say thank you for taking the time to post on the boards. It is quite some time since we have seen a similar sharing of information here on the boards and it is appreciated. I hope it is something we can expect to see more of.
Secondly, it will be interesting to see how ebay plans to compensate sellers for sales that did not happen due to these outages.
ebay has been continually pushing sellers to a BIN format so obviously they wont be able to just base it on auctions ending during the problems, as all sellers have been affected in some way with buyers being unable to purchase.

It sure seems to me to have had a negative impact on my sales.

Still got watchers? Might have knocked out watch lists.

Yup still got watchers. But its slow going in sales since Friday night across IDs.
Listing views (via inkfrog data) are at a minimum 30% down from what they normally are over weekend.
I note too that the ebay "incident" also had negative impact on inkfrog systems - as far as I can tell (not being able to list properly etc) - so I have to concede that the effect is more likely an indirect one, due to the loss of Friday night access to ebay and inkfrog, at a time when I normally prepare my new, and revised, listings for weekend traffic.
Its a loss I will never see compensation for.
