Even if I did, I wouldn't be encouraging tax avoidance.

Easy, only use sellers that that ship via the GSP...................true.gif

As long as ebay is adding the GST to the buyer's invoice I can't see how anyone here can avoid it.

But I have not gone out of my way to even look for a way to avoid my obligations.

I wonder if the GSP will add it to their invoices.....they have the facility to do it as they already do it for items over $1000.

Step by step workaround? Of course!

  • Purchase fake fingerprint gloves. (It is suggested that the "Korean Hacker" deluxe edition be used.)
  • Purchase clown wig (unless you are actually a circus clown or indeed a clown of any description).
  • Purchase face mask. (The Michael Cranston mask is particularly efficacious.)
  • Pop over to Guam on your yacht/U-boat/speedboat/canoe/kayak.
  • Buy the goods, and disguise them as smuggled dogs - no, wait, that won't work, as we know from a previous attempt. No, disguise them as items you've owned for a long time. It may be necessary to scratch some of the items, or hit them with a hammer.
  • Head back to Australia to land in a secret unknown location.
  • Go to nearest public toilet.
  • Remove fake mask, wig, and gloves.
  • You have now successfully completed Operation T-voidance.

Smiley LOLSmiley LOLSmiley LOL

That would probably cost more than actually paying the 10% GST and being a good little citizen.
