I would like to report an address that has scammed two persons I know.  The address is in Stockport, Manchester to be precise.  I would have loved to give more details since i know the identity of the person. This is my first time reporting someone here so i don't know if i'm allowed to drop the person's details so the appropriate authorities can handle the situation.

Hi there

No, you are not allowed to put a persons details on here

Even if you did, it would be deleted by the mods as you agreed to it he rules when signing up

And this is a member to member forum, the authorities do not read here

How were the people you know scammed if the used the tools eBay provide to prevent this?

Hi there

Have a look at the 2 links below, one for reporting sellers and one for avoiding fraud on eBay.

Hi there

It doesn't matter where the so-called scammer is located.

All that matters is what steps these 2 people took to protect themselves prior, during and after the transaction. I'm assuming they were the sellers in these cases.

Did they check the feedback of the person - were there any red flags?

Did they receive communication which did not seem straightforward or "off"?

Were they asked to send to a different address to the one in the transaction?

Were they selling high priced items? Did they send with tracking and Signature on Delivery if over $750?

Did the "scammer" open a case/dispute and what was the reason? Did these 2 people then follow the steps outlined in the sellers guide?

Etc, etc......

Without more information on what happened, we can only speculate. However, it is up to each person to do their due diligence whether they be the seller or the buyer. These forums are full of stories of people who have not even bothered to read the guides and who have zero clue.
