For the past 3 months I have been getting a credit balance of $11.64 on my eBay invoice, now a letter telling me it will be no longer valid if I don't take action. I contacted the online help, and was directed to a site that wants my CC details, $2 upfront, and $66 per month. Yes, I can cancel at any time, but what if something goes wrong with that too?

It sounds like it might be a phishing scam. Unless it's a genuine site ignore it or cancel the thing (so long as you don't have to give any personal details).

When you say you contacted the "online help" - do you mean you clicked on a link in the letter?
Or did you come to the Ebay site, click on Chat and get a rep?
You can see all your financial information/invoices etc from your seller hub.
But you're not selling anything and Ebay no longer sends invoices as all sellers need to have transitioned to the new managed payments system.
Sounds like a phishing scam. Please do NOT click on random links from emails. Always go to the actual site and check there. If it is a genuine invoice, it will be in your Ebay messages.

Regard all supposedly โeBayโ communications โ unless they are in your eBay messages as well โ as dubious.
Youโd have heard or read that Australians have been scammed and hacked relentlessly over the last two years in particular. We must all be aware of possible phishing attacks and attempts to have our information misused.

It all sounds really strange. It looks like you clicked on a link in an email rather than contacting eBay via live chat? Why would they redirect you to a site that wants your cc details and money from you for apparently no reason?
I hope you didn't give them any details yet... It surely sounds like a scam to me.
