Hi, I bought an expensive item but the seller won’t post it and ignores my communications. I have tried to contact eBay by email and phone but only get recorded messages. How do I speak to a human about this? I will contact law enforcement agencies because what is happening is plain theft but I would like to talk to an eBay representative about this first. Can anyone help with a phone number? cheers!

There is no phone number....you can go to HELP (top of page) and conduct a 'live chat' which you will get a transcript of....or ask here, as we (members like yourself) may be able to help you.
What is the item number?
Don't name the seller

You do not need a phone number, nor to contact eBay
If it is past the estimated delivery date, you need to open and follow through with an item not received dispute
The email is useless (and also pointless) as it is bot automated and not the way to open a dispute
It was indeed suppose to be posted and not a pick up only item?
I do not think the police would appreciate their time being wasted with something like this
Rather like someone calling 000 because they broke a fingernail
All you need to do is open the dispute
You have been on eBay almost 12 years, sure enough time to read buying basics?
What was the estimated delivery date and what is the item number?
*To add, if you have left it too late to open a dispute through eBay (30 days past the last estimated delivery date, you have 180 days with PayPal if you paid that way
If not, a bank charge back (but ONLY as a last resort, because if you try that first, you cannot go back and then try eBay/PayPal)

if you do go to law enforcement, please come back and report their response.
We have read many threads where the threat to go to law enforcement has been made, with nobody making those threats coming back to report the outcome.
