I won an item and paid for it via credit card option at auction end. The item was $25 plus $39.05 postage. I got a notification this morning that the seller cancelled the sale due to the item being damaged or out of stock and that a refund had been issued. How does a refund work in this situation please? Does the seller need to contact me for my bank details given that it wasn’t paid for via PayPal? No refund has shown up in my account as yet and I’m afraid I won’t see that money again.
After cancelling my order the seller has relisted the item with a starting bid of $500 and buy it now price of $720 and it’s quite a unique item so I know they aren’t selling another one. If they wanted more money for the item they should’ve listed a higher asking price in the first place. Surely this isn’t in the spirit of eBay and a breach of contract? What can I do?

There is nothing you can do except look for another seller.
The refund will take several days to go back to your card account....it is not instantaneous.
Sellers often list at very high prices when they are out of stock of an item......wait and see if the price goes down again.
