Suspicious email claiming to be from ebay wanting confirmation of order #xxxx xxxx

Hi.

I have just received a suspicious email claiming to be from ebay, it looks authentic.

Its wanting confirmation of order #xxx-xxxxx-xxxxxxxx.

I have no outstanding ebay orders. I have had one recent item delivered the day before this suspicious email. The order numbers do not match. I think it may be a scam of some sort.

Could you advise me if I should ignore this email please?

Thanks in advance.

G

Re: Suspicious email claiming to be from ebay wanting confirmation of order #xxxx xxxx

Hi Sandypebbles.

I never click on web links unless I fully trust the sender.

No, they don't address me by my name.

I've just blocked the sender.

Thanks for the confirmation. A person can't be too careful these days.

I had an email the other day pretending to be from Aust Post asking me to click on a link and provide an updated mailing address.

When I asked Aust Post, they said they'd never send any emails asking that, as they would already have my address from the moment I made the purchase from the online form.

Once again, thanks.

From what you have said, I would say certainly sounds like a scam

Do not click on any links in the email

Is the message also in your eBay messages?

Does the email address you by name?
