Today is Freaky Friday, eBay maintenance day so try again later or tomorrow.
Many things don't work on Fridays.

Did you try to contact a member to exchange contact details eg phone number, email or address ?
If so then eBay have probably given both you and the other member a 7 day ban on messaging for "attempting to buy or sell off eBay"
