latest phone scam

i have received a call stating that someone has tried to use my account to buy a $200 gift voucher. i think, couldnt understand them.

they asked if i wanted the payment stopped! 

they then asked what tyope of phone i had and needed to go to the app store.

i told them i would call them back.

Is this a scam?

Quite a few threads about this and similar ones

As long as you did not press anything (as in '1' is the most common request from theses scammers) or confirm any of your details. or go ahead with the download , just block the number

If they call back DO NOT answer the call, all you do if you do is confirm that your phone number is active, then they will pass on your number to other scammers.

It's definitely a scam. Been receiving these kind of scam calls since years ago. Until now, I still read many people are reporting similar scams at websites like http://phonebook.ai. Just block the number, dude.
