How do I send requested information on an open return case?

I bought a vintage electronics item, which was broken internally (not a shipping/packaging problem).  The seller accepted the return, but when he received it, he opened a case against me falsely accusing me of sending back a different item.  EBay sent me a message saying, " We have sent you an email requesting further information to allow us to investigate your case. Please provide this information before Jan 5, 2022 to assist with the process."   However, they didn't send me that email (I checked my inbox at EBay)  . And there is no way I can contact EBay.   What can I do?    Thanks.
