How long do I have to pay for an item?
I'm waiting for funds to clear in paypal and they take sooo long.
What is the general rule please?
It wasn't a pay now one.

Whether it is a buy now or an auction you should pay as soon as you can.
At the very least contact the seller and let them know what is going on and when you will pay.
The seller can open a non payer dispute after 4 days and then 4 days later close it and issue a strike so you have a minimum of 8 days to pay but it is up to how patient the seller is.
Remember GOOD comms is a must.
