The seller has let me know that they cannot post the item but I cannot get an early refund

The seller has let me know that he is unable to post the item and suggested I "request a refund from eBay", but there is no option to refund before the delivery date and I want my money back as soon as possible so I can purchase from somewhere else. I have used the "contact an agent" feature but was unable to find any help there either. Do I really have to just wait until the estimated delivery date?

Tell the seller to cancel the transaction, refund will then be processed

Its already been paid though, does that make a difference?

No, the seller can not ship so it is up to them to cancel and the refund will be processed automatic by ebay
