I find it frustrating that when I have had a great transaction and all parties are happy, I leave great feedback, but I receive nothing!!!!! This trend seems to be increasing over time. Feedback to me, is like a badge to show I am trustworthy and also to show other potential purchasers how my items are appreciated. I know it is not compulsory, but surely its about good conscience.

As you have pointed out, feedback is not compulsory, and many ebayers just dont seem to bother these days.
Feedback for members who are only buyers means very little since sellers can no longer leave negative feedback, so members who buy only, will always have 100% positive, no matter what they do.
Feedback for sellers is more important, but asking for it will often just aggravate a buyer into leaving the sort of feedback that you dont want, so if a member chooses not to leave feedback, or cant be bothered, just move on.
