Return case closed for not sending item back after I have already sent the item

I recently returned an item using the shipping label provided by eBay, the item was received and scanned by the return location with no issues and it was within the date eBay had told me to do it but now when i check the case on eBay it is saying the case is closed due to me not sending the item back in time.

Just clarifying: when I said return location I mean the place you take it to be sent not the sellers location.

Can you provide full details of the transaction please?

Dates, reason for return, seller location etc.

Nor do we know what you mean by 'the place you take it to be sent' 

Do you mean a post office? post shop? sendle agent? courier depot? red mail box in the street?
