Why can't I automatic bid?

Ebay suggests I increase my "high bid"  but doesn't offer auto bidding.

Is this automatically auto bidding or is it because there is a reserve price or somesuch?

If you put in a top bid that is substantially higher than the current bid then ebay will automatically increase your bid when another bidder places a bid.   You bid will be increased up to the top limit that you have entered...until you are outbid.

There are no reserves on ebay Australia except on motor vehicles and real estate.
