I bought an external 4TB SSD.
After arrival, I did some tests (H2testw_1.4 and ChipGenius_v4).
I could only write 4,596 MByte onto the "SSD" with 7.56MByte/s. That's a bad sign.
After dismantling the drive, I got this:
A nice aluminium housing, a lot of glue, a micro-SD-card-reader, a 64GB micro SD card (might be also fake).
I made this test, so you don't have to do this!
The seller is still online. Hope ebay takes some action.
You say "the seller is still online". Sadly, there are many sellers who sell these fakes at the moment. Maybe just a few weeks ago there were not so many, but now there are many.
Their prices are absurd. If you look at the average prices for external SSDs at OfficeWorks for example, you will see what external SSDs really sell for: https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/c/technology/hard-drives-data-storage/solid-state-dr...
The difference is huge. 4TB is about $1,500.
