using multiple gift cards

I am trying to make a purchase using my ebay gift cards.  The value of the purchase exceeds the amount the card amount.  However, when I enter the redemtion code of a new card, it would not apply the extra amount. How do I make the purchase using multiple cards?

I don't think it's possible.

At checkout, there is only the one field to enter a code.
