Firstly it was the the multi coloured roses now we have blue, black purple, lime green wild rare heirloom strawberries. We also have purple, blue, red, pink, rose and orange bananas. Frangipanis have suddenly become available in black, purple violet and blue.

All these wonderful new varieties straight out of china and thailand. Why can't the rest of the world produce these beauties. Smiley Tongue

The bananas are interesting.

Given every edible banana in the world is the same species and they propogate from cuttings. There are paints available in those colours, though, so I suppose it is possible to have the skins those colours. As long as they send the paint with the plant. In which case the buyer MIGHT get the paint. The plant certainly won't make it through Customs.

Well yes the rest of the world actually can do this,it's called genetically modified and they now have modified a tomato and turned it purple. So eventually any fruit or plant will be made into whatever colour you want.

Are you talking about the heritage heirloom Purple Russian tomato Lycopersicon lycopersicum? Been available from Diggers for years. Smiley Wink

I think they have worked it out that it worked with "making" multi coloured roses so the may have experimented with

others,(eBay did nothing to shut these scammers down and they are still scamming members)stubborn_smiley_by_mirz123-d4bt0te_zps12f1a5a3.gif

The must work on the theory that scamming others is easy,(just make or use an existing "exotic" and list it as such

and then send out whatever cheap seeds they have available of the normal stock variety),stubborn_smiley_by_mirz123-d4bt0te_zps12f1a5a3.gif

By the time the buyer plants the seeds and has worked out they have been duped it's to late to leave feedback,(by

that time the seller is generally building up feedback on a new account just in case).

After all eBay helps the buyer to get to some of the fake listings  rainbow rose seeds

Others will surely follow as reporting them is pointless,(they just don't care that members are getting duped).

As long as you know what you can and cannot bring into the country there are many seeds (and other things) that you can import. You can go to this website to find out what is allowed:  http://apps.daff.gov.au/icon32/asp/ex_querycontent.asp
