Any way I can track an international item not recieved

I purchased an item from a seller in Austria and noted the item was marked as sent on the 16th October. I emailed the seller on the 17th November as I thought it should have arrived by now. It took 3 emails to get a reply but she did provide a tracking number - CA110869916AT

I have tried to track this item myself but the only info I can find is that parcel was shipped abroad on the 17th Oct - there is nothing after this date. I have no idea which postage service was used.

The seller has never helped track the item so I opened a non- received dispute with paypal on the 24th Nov and was notified this morning that because the seller provided tracking they could not settle in my favour.

Australia post cant help me as I am the receiver not the sender so I am left $235 out of pocket for an item that has not arrived.

Is there any other tracking sites which might provide some info as to the where-abouts or can I contact customs etc to see if it has reached Australia

Any info would be great,

thanks

This one just says it has been posted abroad Post

So that is the postal service that was used.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

I usually use http://www.track-trace.com/post to check on international parcels

Austria Post only shows the same info.  Item forwarded abroad 17.10.2013

I buy regularly from a seller in Austria and parcels generally take around 2 weeks to arrive. I have had a couple of parcels take 2 months though. At this time of year with the extra pre-Christmas mail shipping takes a lot longer than normal.

If the tracking does not show it is delivered you need to ring Paypal. Tell them you are not happy with their service as you have certainly not received your parcel whatever the seller may have provided in the way of tracking. If they refuse to look more carefully at the tracking ask to speak to a supervisor. If they still will not reverse their decision stay polite but tell them you are prepared to provide a Stat Dec to confirm you have not received it and if that is not enuogh proof for them you will be making a complaint to the Ombudsman if a refund is not in your account within 48 hours.

Is 1005 your postcode? If so, my web searching turned this up: "Warning: The postcode 1005 is reserved for non-standard use (PO Boxes, competition mail, government departments, large companies etc.) and as such the location data provided may not be accurate." This appears to be a LVR postcode in Sydney NSW (Large Volume Receiver postcode).

If this is the case, is it possible that your parcel was intercepted by another employee or someone with authority to collect the mail? I just had an order today that was addressed to a company name only (i.e. anyone can open the parcel, which contains very personalised documents). I have now confirmed with the buyer that she actually works there and will be placing her name on the package too (even though this was not mentioned in the PayPal delivery address).

I always post via Registered Mail to the specified address, so I am covered under circumstances of non-receipt. Perhaps your seller had similar evidence too. It is up to the buyer to provide a delivery address that will ensure parcels are safely and personally received.

I have posted to Coca-Cola Amatil, Cupcake Bakeries, Subway stores etc. I think it's a risk--any employee can sign for the package on the day it arrives. You have to know that your co-workers are 100% honest I guess.
