It seems to have become normal practice for sellers to end auctions early if the bids are low either that or the are many clumsy sellers which either break, loose etc the item as that the reaso they use
but by some miracle they manage to find the item and relist soon after lol
which there was some way to eliminate these scamers from my searches that would save me wasting my time bidding

Yes there has been a big increase in this just lately. I had 5 items cancelled last night alone buy a seller. 4 a day or 2 before that and constantly get emails saying items cancelled.
I believe its because of extreme slow sales lately which means not many bids plenty of watchers but not many committing to buying right now and for a dozen different reasons not just eBay and Aust post changes although they will have a short term effect, election with its stupid 8 mth campaign that's not a campaign BS, then there's a huge slowing in the economy bought on buy a stupid election campaign then there's the fact so many are just plain losing there employment due to stupid gov laws that do not protect our own companies and makes it much more attractive to leave. All this adds up to very cautious buyers. And for good reasons. Where will Australia be in 12 months time.? I feel its not good and I see no one capable of stemming the flow.
Australia needs to stop playing the god country and start making some very hard calls or this will drive us to a lower standard of living for most. It already has to some.

maybe not scammers but certainly dodging the ebay reserve price fee
as ebay aust does not have Reserve prices (and fees) on their general site, this does not come into question!
only ebay motors / bikes / caravans / boats and Real Estate have reserves on ebay.au

I am a very frequent bidder and buyer on ebay and I have never had the problems you describe sweetap.
I think over several years with thousands of transactions that I have had my bids cancelled and an auction ended, less than a handful of times.
have scored loads of goods well below what I thought the market value would be, including numerous single dollar wins, with no drama or fuss from the sellers.
I don't doubt that some posters may have had this type of experience, but take some responsibility and maybe check out a sellers feedback and selling history before bidding or buying ?

So after all of that, you were referring to a single seller.
You can look at a sellers history via advanced search - and view the ended listings by a seller over the last two weeks, you get to see both the sold and unsold items.
I think your analysis is correct - in some cases. However, there are many, many more reasons why a seller may end their items early.

Sellers are indeed allowed to end a listing if they think they are not getting enough money.
But they are also dishonest.
Maybe they should start at a price they are happy to accept ,rather than wasting peoples time.
Why start a listing a a price that is too low for Seller to accept ????

@thecatspjs No I'm not talking a single seller I'm talking many sellers that was just one EXAMPLE I clearly said that was last nights cancelations alone if you want more I have plenty want me to start listing them.
The fact is it is happening more frequently as the OP was asking and I'm responding to.
If you want me to list more cancelled auctions I have plenty as most of the stuff I collect goes to auction to get as much as possible and much of it does get cancelled as its sold to people making offers to the sellers prior to the end of auction which they do except and save on fees.
I don't blame them nor do I care I'm mealy pointing out it is happening more often especially in certain categories. And sure there are some people with genuine reasons to cancel but in most its not its either because it has not reached its expected price or its sold out side eBay. And before you say that don't happen I can tell you on a collectables its rife.
You need to take the time to read the posts in whole and understand what is written and what it is referring to. Your jumping to assumptions.
Here look at it like this. Im selling an oil bottle Golden Fleece worth $2000 its at $1200 I get email will you end our action and sell to me cash for $1800 and I will collect it today with cash , As a seller what are you going to do It might make $2000 and I pay ebay fee,s PP fee,s worry about it getting broken during transport or do I say yes its yours for $1800 if you collect now you then cancel auction and bids and pocket the money its rife.
OH and yes some oif these oil bottles do sell for that much and even double that.
Neptune oil bottle sold on here $3251 2 in the last year in fact 1 at that price the other made $3250 that's a lot of fee money to be saved. Like I

Regardless of whether you (anyone) thinks sellers ending listings are annoying, is beside the point.
The item is still the sellers. Period.
Why the end is, is quite frankly, none of anyone's business.
