It seems to have become normal practice for sellers to end auctions early if the bids are low either that or the are many clumsy sellers which either break, loose etc the item as that the reaso they use

but by some miracle they manage to find the item and relist soon after lol

which there was some way to eliminate these scamers from my searches that would save me wasting my time bidding

There was an error in the starting price or reserve amount

So reserves only apply in some situations, but starting price applies to all auctions and if a seller ends an auction and relists with a different starting price then they are operating well within the guidelines.

@thecatspjs

LOL yep and it takes them a whole week to work it out LOL. Like I said your just itchin to make it right for the sellers.  Doesn't alter the fact more people are noticing this trend hence the question was put to the forum.

If you don't want to sell for 99 cents 5 bucks 20 bucks 30 50 100 w/e don't list it like that like Ive already said list it with a BIN and a make an offer but like I said that not as appealing though is it.  Immediately the word deception comes to mind.

Living in fantasy land believing there all mistakes or lost or w/e . Dream on dreamers.

And your still doing it making excuses where does the rules say you may end the listing due to the bidding price not being high enough IT DOESNT.

I have purchased more on ebay than you have had hot dinners - so I do very much understand a buyers perspective.  I believe this understanding is why I do very well at selling in a number of difficult markets with lots of competition.

Always disappoints me to see posters take on a buyer vs seller stance. 😞

@thecatspjs  no offence but you still have not answered the question where does it say you may end a listing early due to not having a high enough bid on it.

The OP made it clear he was getting frustrated with items being cancelled  and being relisted due to what he she thinks is not making a high enough price.

It is all you,s that have rambled on the rest of it and it is you,s who pulled up the rules which clearly does not state you may end a listing due to not making a price that the seller thinks is acceptable.

Like I said it bothers me NONE. I'm mealy answering the OP,s question and I suggest the rest of you do the same.

I agree with the OP and have said so and I know in certain categories its a growing problem but you know what so what they want to much it wont sell and if it does good luck to em.

But to think its not happening and to say its in the rules is ludicrous and that its morally ok is just proof of what sort of people hover over this nest of yuckeeness.

Whilst this situation can make some very annoyed and frustrated if you are bidding, and a seller has ended a listing as the price did not reach as high as they wanted, it still stands that they can cancel the bids, and end the listing early if they so chose to do and it is not against the rules.

If they put a reason that is not their main reason, they can still do that - it is their goods   to do with what they wish and they can change their mind or reason several times if they like. So be it.

It does not contribute to a great buying environment, but thems the breaks, if you are targeting your bidding on items that are selling much, much lower than their value, this may be possibility,  IMO most sellers don't do it, and there are plenty of other bargains to be had.

@thecatspjs

Yep good for them but its still a scam. And you still have not addressed the OP,s question.

Your to busy making excuses for immoral sellers.

Lets start again the OP,s  questions or concern is, is it becoming the norm  answer maybe not but it is happening a lot more does it matter not really not to me anyway.

Is it because they have not reached what they want for it , Possible but who cares only the bidders.

Are they in breach of the rules, possibly but who is going to police judge and enforce it if they are.

Do they have the right to end it , YES if they have a genuine reason.

But relisting with the same start price the same worded listing and the exact same photos and description suggests its not a genuine reason and its the same item being offered.

And this is what the OP,s concerns were and I suggest you all focus on that and not me.

I have given several suggestions directly relevant to OPs questions - including checking a sellers ended listings using advanced search.

I don't think that anti-seller rants are particularly helpful to the OP.
