Can anyone confirm whether this is happening?

I canโt personally confirm at present, but Iโll see if I can find something I want, in an auction listing, currently under $25.

I can't confirm or otherwise but I think ebay has always had some minimum amounts in place on auctions. I know in the past when I would go to bid on something that already had bids, the ebay system would always show me the minimum bid I could make. I could never decide to eg just bid another 10c.
I could, however, bid odd amounts such as $1.49 or $10.59 or whatever and often that odd endding amount would take you slightly over what the dollar increment only bidders were bidding. Or else I might miss out if they went an overall higher amount, dollar wise.
But I would imagine buyers can still see the minimum amount they can bid and I guess they just have to make a decision from there about whether it is worth it.
I wouldn't necessarily be happy with eg $50 increments but I can understand for lower value items, maybe they could go up in $1 increments.
Overall, I don't know how much it will affect a lot of buyers as so many items are buy it now or make an offer, it is not like the old days where it was geared to auctions.
