Blocked from BIN listings

Opened up an account to purchase little things here and there and have been blocked from buying items outright except for my very first item but am allowed to bid on auctions.

I have found items that I wanted to BIN but am not able too.

Ebay are saying that it's because of a safety reason blah blah.

I said hey ebay but I have other accounts and you know that this account is also now mine so what gives?

Apparently nothing gives as I'm still blocked from BIN.

If this is the way new buyers will be treated then it's a joke or maybe it's just me myself and I?

How ridicuously stupendis!

It might have something to do with what you are trying to buy maybe?

There are sellers that may have ticked that buyers need to be phone verified.

That's especially the case when buying from overseas,(American sellers have that a bit).

It could be a "safety" block that eBay have put in place to stop new accounts buying a number of items and

then not paying.

Maybe the bots are reading the account as -1,(which would block you from buying from sellers that have the

block in place that stops buyers with a -1 or worse account)

I understand all that, but when you have 0 feedback, there is nothing to hide at that point. I can understand when someone has some feedback, but when there is 0, what is the point?

It's brought up at times on the US boards and the consensus is that it gives another layer of protection.

This does happen at times where a newbie goes on a buying spree but then doesn't pay for the items,(

as they were only seeing how it works on here and didn't want to buy anything).

The -1 block that can be put in place,so sellers use it,(It doesn't have to make sense and it doesn't make

sense as a buyer only can not have negative feedback)

It's still a carry over from when sellers could leave buyers a neg and it should be removed.

First off let me apologise to all the posters that I may have offended as it was only done in sheer frustration.

And this frustration is again continuing but I asure you all I won't take it out on any posters.

Well I have a feedback of 1 now and yesterday the block was removed as I changed my feedback to public. I thought ok problem resolved.

So now I'm really not sure of what is going on because I am now blocked from bidding on all the items that I have bid on.

I have gone to make another bid on them as I am not winning.

Ebay are again looking into this, but I'm now bedazzled as to why this is happening?

As I said befor I have no violations no suspensions and everything is verified.

Crow, please don't bite my head off but have you had any trouble on the boards.....slaps or holidays on any of your accounts at all?

When I was on holiday recently I was unable to use my one and only ebay account which is a buying account only.  I could not bid or buy or even log in to ebay.  And I could not even read the boards when not logged in.

Yes, I know it is not supposed to happen, but it did.  And I am not the only member who has experienced this in the last few weeks.

No trouble at all lyndal.

And trouble on boards do you mean maybe I have been reported to ebay on one of my accounts and therefor am unable to use the one that's blocked?

Every account is ok except that one so I'm at a loss.

They may be watching it as a "newbie" joining and hooking up to an established Papal account might have

the looks of a hijacked account,Who knows.gif

I have been on the phone to ebay and had it all verified.

All my details are the same except for the email address and obviously the account ID.

So yes a newbie account but not hijacked.

I'm thinking maybe my account has been hijacked by another?

Oh well if it doesn't get resolved I'll just go ahead and close it when I can.

A Hotmail or Gmail account,(they seem more suss of those type of accounts),

When you've verified everything with eBay they should've checked that.

You can always change your password,(as a hijacked account would only know your current one).

You shouldn't have to as eBay needs to work out what's causing it,stubborn_smiley_by_mirz123-d4bt0te_zps12f1a5a3.gif
