Opened up an account to purchase little things here and there and have been blocked from buying items outright except for my very first item but am allowed to bid on auctions.
I have found items that I wanted to BIN but am not able too.
Ebay are saying that it's because of a safety reason blah blah.
I said hey ebay but I have other accounts and you know that this account is also now mine so what gives?
Apparently nothing gives as I'm still blocked from BIN.
If this is the way new buyers will be treated then it's a joke or maybe it's just me myself and I?
How ridicuously stupendis!

It is certainly something to watch out for when newbies come to the boards complaining of not being able to buy although they would probably not even know about private feedback at that stage.
Maybe ebay needs to add that to their severely outdated rules and terms and hints and whatever else they have to help newbies negotiate the site.

My understanding is if select your feedback to be private, the prompts actually remind you of selling and buying restrictions before you agree ......... but of course so many things change with eBay, so that may no longer be the case.

Setting feedback to private only supposed to restrict you from selling not buying

Yes, You are reminded that you cannot sell when your account is set to Private but I don't remember seeing anything about restrictions to buying.
I might turn the Private setting off later and see exactly what it says.....when the boards are quiet and the snoops are asleep.

I didn't think there was an option for sellers to block buyers with private feedback. I just received feedback from a buyer with private feedback and he had no problems buying.
I'm a bit dumbfounded by that reason. why would sellers care if a buyers feedback was private, it just doesn't make any sense.

He has already checked me out on Watchcount anyway. lol
It just makes it a little bit harder for newbies to have a look.....I've got nothing to hide anyway.

Pfft, I was referring to the "rest of your POST" (see below) as stated, not your guessing game.
