Bought an item through ebay, only local pickup.

Hi guys

I've bought a macpro through eBay and the buyer on,y offers local pickup, this is cool but what should I do if I get there and the item doesn't work or is not as described? If I walk away , do I then request a refund...what should I make sure to do

You inspect the item to make sure it is as described and if you are happy hand over the cash.

Do not use paypal or bank deposit on pick up items.

If the item is not as described then you walk away with your money.

you cannot get a refund on a pick up item--  Paypal and ebay exclude pickups from their Buyer protection

which is why as already suggested here,  you take cash with you ,  you inspect and check the item BEFORE you pay.

If they have some excuse as to why you cannot fully check it out then just say no thank you and keep your money in your pocket.

You ask, if it doesn't work, can you get a refund, sounds to me, you have paid for it already, have you?.

I was thinking that as well eagle..........

pick up items are not protected so you only ever pay on inspection....if you have already paid OP, maybe contact paypal and see if they will

reverse the payment so you can check this item out in person and then hand over the cash if happy with it.

Not sure if this can be done, but worth a phone call.
