HI, I have a storage unit listed, as it is quite big it is pick up only.
I just had a message from someone asking if I can deliver it to her, cause she cant pick it up and would pay for the petrol. Shes lives in the next suburb to me.
I am not sure if I want to deliver it, my husband has a ute, but he is always busy with work and I want this gone asap, that is why I listed it to finish this weekend.
Anyhow if I deliver how much extra should I charge her? I was thinking $20 ???

Next suburb? wear & tear on your vehicle, petrol, your labour - at least $50.00

I just paid $55 from a well known furniture store to have a bigger than sedan car back seat sized coffee table delivered from the next suburb. I even instructed them to bring it up the 3 front steps & into the lounge adjacent to the entry hall for me; though they said their obligation ended once it was off the truck!
You need to figure in manhandling time & difficulty along with other costs noted above & charge accordingly. Maybe they live on a steep hill? You never know!

I'd say at least 30 if not 40.

I paid $50 to get a two shelf bookcase delivered from a store 1km away. And had to wait for five days until they had a full van load.

$50 seems to be the consensus. And reasonable. Use of own vehicle runs close to $1 per kilometre for tax purposes, plus labour,semi-skilled in this instance, so $10 for the vehicle and $40 labour sounds about right.
OR she can find somebody with a ute.

Devil's advocate.
How badly do you want this sale?
We hear all the time of people not rocking up to collect pick up items.
What are you going to do if they're not home when you go to deliver?

also how did she pay? are there any potiental paypal problems if you deliver the item?

While paypal is not advisable for pick up (normally cash on inspection) if you decide to deliver to her - add the $30 delivery and ask her to pay via paypal first, then you will deliver.
Otherwise, you could go to all this trouble, and once she see's it she may decide against it, and you have gone to the effort for nothing.
If that does happen at least if she has already paid you can tell her you will refund the paypal payment for the amount of the item& delivery less a handling fee - I would retain about $20 for the mucking about.
Alternatively - you ask her to come to you and view, pay you and then you will deliver.

Did she say if she wants it on the nature strip or in her backyard?
If the backyard, you will need ot make sure she has good access to the yard otherwise you need to make it clear you will leave it at the front of the house.
