We are seeing a significant increase in incorrect address details.
The most common one is for addresses in major towns and cities where buyers put both eg
3 Blogg st
Essendon Melbourne Vic 3040 (it should be just Essendon Vic 3040)
or Trinity Beach Cairns Qld 4879 (it should be just Trinity Beach Qld 4879)
or Glenorchy Hobart Tas 7010 (it should be just Glenorchy TAS 7010)
(these are all examples from the last week of transactions)
or forget the suburb completely
3 Blogg St
Melbourne Vic 3040
At best these can delay shipment while the seller gets it right (a lot of the systems such as Click & Send will reject these addresses meaning the seller has to do it manually), cause delays in delivery and possibly lost parcels (eg there are 3 post offices with the 3040 postcode).
Also, when the seller has to update manually you open up possibilities for keying errors.
And bear in mind that whilst it might be obvious to an Australian seller that Melbourne 3040 isn't right a Chinese/British/American seller won't spot the problem.
Incorrect postcodes are another problem - I suspect in most cases its just that you've changed address and forgotten to update the postcode (but we have had buyers who apparently didn't want anyone to know they lived in a particular suburb so they fudged the postcode!)
So buyers - please take the time to make sure your address is accurate in both eBay and Paypal. Australia Post is pretty good, but especially when it gets busy things go astray or get delayed if the address is not entirely correct.

You can blame ebay for that.....the forms we fill out whn we join ebay are in the American format.
In over 7 years I have never had a problem with overseas mail but I have had an Australian seller who flatly refused to believe me when I gave her my address in the format that was acceptable to C & S. She even argued about the spelling of my street name...she wanted to put and i in it and demanded I "correct" it in paypal as it was coming up without the i. We had some very heated exchanges...she cancelled the transaction saying I refused to confirm my address...she got a neg all because she refused to believe my address.

It will be OK the buyer has paypal buyer protection . I have noticed an increase in errors in address details and I find it really annoying. I hand address all outgoing mail which is likely why I pick it up most of the time, on an automated system it would be hell. One would think a buyer would take a little more care in entering address details.

I just cut the suburb from the 'address' line and put it in the 'suburb' line. Then change the State to the correct one, assuming it's not ACT. Two seconds. No biggey. Certainly not enough of an issue has harrass buyers over.

I find using C&S rather time consuming anyway. I was not really referring to "shifting" the details to another input field, which really should be fixed in any case.

Quite possibly.
But 30 C&S transactions a day would be about a minute.
Maybe a couple of hundred a day would start to be an impost. I don't do that many, but I doubt you or OP do either.

Assure all you like. i speak from my own experience, and a couple of seconds is all it takes me.
