ebay do not palm it off to paypal at all.
ebay is there to sell or buy through and paypal is there to make or receive payment through.
Yes it is wrong that a seller intentionally misleads a buyer to make a sale and that is why you can leave factual neg feedback to warn others but in the end you will have to pay the return postage to get the total amount you paid to the seller.
A good seller would refund the return postage as well for their error

When buying something you should always take into consideration the cost of a return if the item is damaged or not as described. There are many sellers who say they will cover returns for faulty or wrongly described goods so buy from one of them if you want to be sure, they are also the sellers least likely to send you something that will need a return.
When you signed up for a Paypal account you supposedly read the terms and conditions, you at least ticked a box to say you had, so you should have been well aware of the fact you had to pay for any returns, Paypal have not at any time told you anything diffferent and in fact will sometimes wave the need for a return if the item is costs a lot more to return than you would get back, they will however want photographic evidence and possibly a stat dec. They will also want to see evidence that the item has been destroyed once the refund is issued.
It says in this book I am reading that by 2065 80% of women will be overweight.
See what a trendsetter I am?

Anybody coming to these boards as a new member MIGHT not know the rules.
The vast majority of people who visit the boards do not need to be told how buyer protection works, or seller protection for that matter.
And, regardless, Paypal's T&Cs are Paypal's T&Cs. No matter how many threads you start/post on, that is immutable.

You seem to be talking to yourself.
Assuming you are talking to me - when you open an account with Paypal (or eBay) you are directed to read and agree to the site's Terms and Conditions (commonly referred to as T&Cs). Once you agree that YOU HAVE READ AND AGREED to them, your account will be activated.
As you have an eBay account and, presumably, a Paypal account, you have agreed to the T&Cs of those entities. Including the ones that cover the responsibility of the buyer to pay for return postage. Whether or not you or I (and I don't) agree that this is fair, this is one of the many edicts that you (and I) agree to when we trade on eBay.
Your personal opinion of my opinion is also irrelevant, but shows your lack of understanding of eBay, Paypal, the boards.....

Some people can go their whole lives and never really live for a single minute.
