Can no longer sort by location?

When browsing by category, the option to show local only seems to have been removed?  are we no longer allowed to browse things in our country?  what if we want to avoid international shipping, are we supposed to wade through the literally hundreds of pages of chnse rubbish first?
Can anyone please tell me how to get this back.  failing that, can anyone please justify to me why anyone still uses this increasingly trash site?

Can no longer sort by location?

It's still there for me when I scroll down the LHS of the search.

Still there for me too

Even it it wasn’t, why would you need to ‘wade through’ anything

AND sort by location does not mean the item is located here either

If you do not want to see cheap rubbish, do not sort by cheapest first

Other members do not need to justify to you why others use the site

If you do not know how the site works, or don’t want to use it, don’t use

But the things you mention are all totally avoidable

It is still there but like a lot of things on ebay now, it might not be immediately visible.

It depends on how the page displays.

But you can definitely get to it.

Here's how I do it. I am not saying this is necessarily the quickest way, I am not a computer wizz, but this works for me.

I will show screenshots but just be aware I cannot identify the seller ID in any way so I have had to cover some details, that's why it may look a bit blank.

1. You may be looking  at a seller's items and it will come up like this (shot below). Even if you click into a category it will often still show in this format. As you can see, there is nothing down the left hand side, no options to look at completed listings or to choose item location etc. The ebay focus these days is on trying to get you focused just on the items.

However, if you click on the tag that says feedback, it will take you to some of the feedback. You're still not where you want to be though, so scroll to the end of that feedback (it will often only be about half a dozen or so feedback comments) and click on the blue tag at the end that says View all feedback.

2. Now you are on a different layout for feedback, the more familiar one we always had in the past.

Now go over and click on View items for sale. It is under Member quick links.

3. Voila, you should be there. This is what I am seeing, the side choices for things such as price, location etc are now back and available.

Can no longer sort by location?

Like I said, I need to filter by location to get rid of all the stuff that is located overseas. I know full well that lots of overseas sellers lie, but I know what to look for in that. I just need to not have to scroll through literally a dozen pages of 200 results per page, just to find the one local item.
Sorting by anything other than cheapest first, every time it shows me the more expensive stuff first, then I have to go browsing through every one of hte hundreds of items just to find what is what.  And nearly always, it's still mostly overseas products.  I once counted thirty something pages at 200 items per page, before I came to something not listed overseas.
I know how the site works, which is why I know that teh feature I'm after used to be available.  I also know that it's not a bug, because this feature has been awol on different browsers on different computers.  I can see no reason why this would be occurring other than that it was removed.
Obviously it's not totally avoidable, because I literally spent half an hour trying various options to find a work around.

I appreciate your rather interesting work around, its the first and only useful thing anyone has had.  Unfortunately the bit where you click on view items for sale, shows you only the items available from that particular seller.  it does not show you all items in that category.  Thankyou for trying though 🙂

You can get to it from there, I think. I'll test it out and see what I can do.

Ebay really doesn't make it as easy as it used to be.

Okay, got it (I hope)

Follow the screenshots from my previous post till you get to the spot where the choices are down on the left hand side. I am on a computer, by the way. I think a laptop would work the same way but a phone may display differently.

Now that you have got the choices about location & pricing up on that left hand side, you can go up to the top where there is a search box. There will be 2 boxes, one for a general search and one for a search of that seller's items.

So go to where the orange arrow is and type in your search.

When the results come up, they unfortunately won't be Australia only, but the key thing is, the choices down the left hand side should still be there, so you can then go in and tick Australia only or a price range etc

I have found the system is not perfect. I was once trying to search tables or some such thing and ticked 25 km radius or whatever and it threw up some results from UK. I am in Victoria! 😧

But the main fault with it is it shows items supposedly in Australia but you still need to double check seller location because a lot of Chinese sellers list their items as in Australia, which may or may not be so, depends on the seller.
