Can seller cancel sale after completed transaction?

Seller listed item for BIN. I bought and paid for item.
They now claim the item was incorrectly priced.

Are they obliged to honour the transaction?

The right thing to do of course is to honor the sale.

But you can't FORCE them to.

You can do a few things:

Refuse a "mutual cancellation" which means they will have to pay the fees anyway and be out of pocket.

If they haven't refunded open an "item not received dispute" with paypal, which will count as a defect to them as a seller (and also get you your payment back)

Leave less than positive feedback and one "star" in each catagory, which again will count as a defect.

Or you can get your refund and get on with your life.

What you do depends on how you feel - but leave it a couple of days if you are a bit hot under the collar so you get some persepctive.

I would do as beautiful room suggests and refuse a mutual cancellation but I would go further.

I don't usually say this, but I think the person deserves negative feedback.

I am saying that because this wasn't an auction, it was a buy it now. In other words, the person set the actual price, it's not like an auction where they may have been caught by surprise if bidding didn't push the price up.

So if it was incorrectly priced, that is their fault entirely. They don't have to honour the transaction but if they are going to be that sloppy then a negative is about what they deserve.

Yes, refuse a mutual cancellation. From yesterday, sellers get defects if they choose to send out sold items... those that do this sort of stuff just might wake up and realise they are doing the wrong thing, as it is going to affect their seller performance standards now.
