Cancel Purchase

Hi There, I purchased a bulk lot of clothing, i collected items and paid cash on pick up, however when i got them home they all smelt really bad of paint. the seller says that she can not refund the money until i aggree to a cancle purchase prompt that she has sent me. Is this correct?? Will i get any bad strikes against my name as now it seems i am wantint to cancel the purchase when in fact it is because the items were not as described?? Not sure what to do. If i paid through paypal maybe but when it is cash i do not see the need??

any advice would be helpful,

Thanks in advance

The seller has paid final value fees to ebay based on the sale price of the clothes. The cancellation request is just so that she gets those fees back. As the seller is under no obligation to refund for a pickup item (you're supposed to inspect the items before you pay and take them away) I would be inclined to agree to the request.

Re: Cancel Purchase

Unfortunately for you it really is your responsibility to check properly for pick up items before you pay and take them home. However do communicate with your seller over this. Nothing is achieved by getting angry as technically you paid her cash on inspection, so you agreed that the items were OK at that point.

Just another thought, do you think the smell would wash out, it might be as simple as that. Possibly the seller has stored the clothing and it may smell just simply because of that, on she may have used camphor or similar which could possibly be mistaken for paint smell, washing will get rid of the camphor smell.

Good luck and do let us know how you get on
