Hi, I purchased a floor rug off a supplier which i never received, and due to him not being able to supply i was refunded my money. I have now been sent a cancellation of sale request from Ebay, stating its because i didnt want the order. This is not correct, supply couldnt supply. Will this effect my feedback.

If you already have your refund then do not accept the cancellation then contact ebay stating your reasons. did the seller state that he refunded due to not being able to supply?

No, he stated that i didnt want it

If you agree to the cancellation he will not pay any final value fee. If you do not agree then he will have to pay the fee.

If you have your refund then just agree to the cancellation so the seller can get his fees back.
There are a limited number of reasons for cancelling a sale so you often find they are not entirely accurate.

Ok, thankyou. I really wanted the rug, but he couldnt supply. He communicated with me all the way through, and i would hate to see him out of pocket as well. However, i would hate to see a mark against my name for something i didnt do!

you wont get a mark against your name no matter what you do. Sellers can't leave buyers negatives, and they can't leave a buyer a +ve with a negative toned comment. They can't hit you with an UnPaid Item claim as they said they can't supply.
