Concert Tickets

Hi,

I thought ebay were stopping people from selling concert tickets at inflated prices?  I just went to try and buy pre-sale tickets on ticketek for my child and they are all sold out already, but alas,they have already been listed here at inflated prices.  Also noting that tickets won't be posted until they themselves receive them from ticketek 😞

Well that makes sense.. How can they post tickets they don't have them yet?

The problem with on selling event tickets is that most ticketing agents state they are non- transferable. There have been many instances of purchasers turning up at venues only to be refused entry as they are not the credit card holder that made the original purchase.

ebay allow tickets to be sold at generally no more than face value however ebay cannot police all listings and rely on members reporting listings if they break the rules. Even then it is difficult for ebay to research from Canada or USA whether a particular listing is in breach.

It's Buyer beware.

At least it was only the presale. Much better to wait and try for the public release than risk buying of Ebay!

Thanks Kopenhagen and no_tv, I appreciate your advice.  It's nice to know we aren't all trolls on here just waiting to post ridiculous or nasty comments on other peoples threads.  I thought that a sentence ending in a question mark meant that is was a question.

I can't see any ridiculous or nasty comments here.

But to answer your question.....selling on ebay is about making a profit so why would ebay stop anyone from listing anything at more than they paid for the item.

Some venues prohibit the on selling of tickets, but otherwise it is up to the seller what they ask for their tickets.

IMO post 2 comments seem quite unnecessary and could be easily interpreted as condescending among other things. 

On topic, until the legislation changes on a national basis, on the resale of event tickets for all events, then I can't see much changing on ebay, as it just reflects that there is a strong market for event tickets.

Not if it's presented as a statement it doesn't..

If you had said "Aren't ebay stopping all people from selling concert tickets at inflated prices?" that is a question... Putting a question mark at the end of a sentence doesn't make it a question unless it as posed as a question.. 

The point is, regardless of whether you were asking a question or not I was just wondering if you were actually asking for help or if you were just having a vent...

You are correct, I was being condescending but I wasn't (intentionally) being nasty...
