Current Active Ebay Seller Scam

There is a current and active scam going on in eBay at the moment.  The seller is usually a newly created account with 0 feedback. They are targeting buyers in medium to high value items, in Jewellery, Iphone, HandBags. Many of these fraudulent accounts have already been shut down, but there are still some slipping through.

They have images of an actual item.  They claim they are based in the USA/Canada.  International shipping is cheap.  Once the item is purchased they do not send the item immediately.  Once a case is opened in eBay they upload a tracking number.  The tracking number is a DHL number for an item coming from a website DH-Gate in Hong Kong which sells low value items such as plastic phone covers etc.  They use your details, ie your email to sign you up for an account with DH-Gate.  Instead of getting the item you think you purchased you receive this cheap item.

The teachings of using the internet has improved and I think the word is spreading.

Buyer beware and if purchasing, only use a safe payment method such as PayPal.

And if you think you can get designer items for a song, think again.

BTW your link would have been ok if it wasn't to a personal/business site.

And as soon as the item that is not what you ordered arrives and you open a SNAD dispute through eBay or PayPal and get your money back and everything is hunky dory.

So in reality an inconvenience but not a biggie
