DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS SELLER -

I purchased a bottle of flux from seller - - last December and have still not received it. I have contacted the seller about a dozen times since then and I keep just getting a "please wait" reply. Because it has taken so long I can no longer see it on my waiting to receive list and have been unable to contact Ebay. Ebay seems to go out of its way to be uncontactable either via message or phone. Do not purchase form  - - as you will not get your purchase.

December and you have being playing games with the seller since.  You should have opened an Item not Received case as soon as the EDD had come and gone.  To late now,  learn how the system works.

Good grief.

This is August. And no, you are not going to get your item nor a refund, that is painfully obvious.

Never let a seller mess you around like this. Every ad has an estimated delivery date range listed.

Your one job after you buy is to keep the seller to it. Take no prisoners.

If an item does not arrive within those due dates, don't mess around contacting the seller over and over. Once, maybe. But even that is not necessary. What I would advise is to go straight into ebay and open a claim for item not received. Open it within a few days of your item being overdue.

You only get 30 days from the expected arrival date in which to open a claim and I would do it much earlier.

Similar if you receive the wrong item or a damaged item etc. Open a claim for item not as described, open it straight away.

Do not accept offers of a replacement as that blows out the waiting time to over the limit. Refund only.

Follow through with the claim.

You would have got money back if you had done that.

Sugar is right, you need to find out how the system works, with anything. Maybe you never needed to when your purchases went well, but when something goes wrong, always look at the help pages immediately to see what you can do about it.

You have been a member for 20 years and have NO IDEA.

Sorry, why would we take advice from someone who not only bought from a dodgy seller in the first place, failed to use the tools they were given, played with said seller and then expect eBay to help them after 8 months when the time limit is 30 days?

eBay are contactable at the top of every page

And eBay is all about the buyer

And then break forum rules

All you own choices

Better advice would be to advise others to check feedback, open a dispute and follow through with it in the time limit

Just as a PS.

I can't see who you bought from as naming individual sellers is against forum rules so those details have been removed.

However, even if that info had been left in your post, this is a smallish forum and threads soon travel down and out of sight anyway.

A better way to warn people would have been via negative feedback for that particular seller.

That way, any future potential buyer who checked would have been able to read your comments.

The thing is, you only get about 2 months after your purchase in which to leave feedback, so you have missed that opportunity too.

Always pay attention to your time limits and make sure you act within them.

Leaving feedback is an optional extra but getting your money back should have been first priority and sadly, you missed out but could have had it if you had acted within a month of the non arrival.

A $20 bottle of solder flux.  It's well past time to let it go and move on.

Well, it is, but the problem is that buyers who get stung like this can lose a bit of confidence in ebay. They worry that it might happen again.

I guess all of us here know that martjo could have got a refund had he/she acted in time and opened a claim.

But I suspect Martjo thinks he knows all about how ebay works. He has bought a fair few times, he has even sold on ebay. He only came on here (or so i suspect) to bag out the seller who let him down. I don't think he has actually returned to the forum to read any of the responses. It's a pity as it might have helped him for the future.

At the very least it *might* help someone else reading here to get some factual information, and if you just do your own thing and ignore every policy , you are not going to be covered by eBay
