Purchased a compressor and asked all the right questions before pickup, Seller said that it works and holds air and charges up fine.
But when i fired it up, the compressor is blown, turns on, but does not hold air and charge up, and sounds like **bleep**.
It was late at night when i picked it up, and seller said it works fine etc, but cause it was late at night i really didnt want to test it and disturb the neighbours.
Now the seller will not reply to my msgs?
What power do i have? Can i only just give him a bad feedback and nothing more?
Is'nt it against the law the falsly adverstise a item when its faulty and not working?
Some input on the matter would be much appreciated.
Kind regards.

sorry to say but you can't do a thing. ebay won't help as it was pickup and it's up to you to check the goods before taking them. If they are not as advertised you walk away.
if you leave negative feedback stating the item was not as described and the seller complains it will most likely be removed.

I would go and see the seller, in a non threatening manner of course, and ask them what they are willing to do about it before you take it to the department of fair trading.
At least you know where they live, or if you think visiting in person is too confronting, send them a well worded letter, it is fraud IMO, even second hand goods should do what they advertised to do, and while you may not be able to take it further via eBay, you can most certainly take it further legally.

The trouble with taking it forward legally is how does the buyer prove that the item was not working when they picked it up, there is no proof damage didn't occur during transport home nor that it broke down within a few minutes, just like buying a second hand car you have no comeback once you have taken delivery of it.
Unless the seller is a registered business with an ABN then there is nothing you can do except trash their feedback and stars.

the seller turned out to be a good seller, accepted to take the item back, he was just busy and didnt reply until that night, i thought he was ignoring me.
But turns out he was a good bloke, gave a full refund, i lost some Air compressor oil about 500mls but thats life, atleast i got the full refund back, and i lost some petrool money picking it up and taking it back, but thats life, you win some, you lose some i guess.
Thankyou all for the replies and help.
Hvae a nice weekend.
cheers.

I'm assuming you meant a buyer left you a neutral, as sellers can't leave buyers anything buy positive? If your buyer is happy to change it, you need to send them a feedback revision request.
