Dodgy seller

Last Wednesday I won a $2120 ride on lawn mower, which I paid for instantly with PayPal. I get a message later that day saying the seller would not accept my PayPal payment because of fees blah blah... The transaction was cancelled and returned to my bank 2 days later. On the Thursday the seller contacts me via saying that his delivery driver is coming through Ballarat on Friday and could possibly drop my mower off ( as I live 4 hours from place of item and 3 from Ballarat).. I'm thinking great! Never turned up. Then he said he will deliver it Saturday to bendigo ( 2 hours away) . Never turned up, no phone call. Would not return my calls/messages..i tell him i will Drive the 4 hours to Melb to pick it upmy Husband rings, he promises he will bring it to bendigo Monday (today). Once again no show, no call. Won't answer my calls. I had had enough of being stuffed around, gave him 1 last chance to contact me before leaving neg feedback. I followed through in leaving neg feedback. Ever since then I have been getting abusive texts demanding I reverse it. Swearing etc. what do I do? Even at 8pm the texts keep rolling in.

Re: Dodgy seller

Can you contact your phone service provider and have them block his number?

Also add him to your blocked buyer/bidder list just in case.

Re: Dodgy seller

I would not buy from a seller that refuses a Paypal payment; particularly for such an expensive item.

As for the calls I agree that you should contact your service provider and advise you are receiving nuisance calls/texts. Send the seller a message via ebay messaging stating that as they cancelled the transcation and refunded your payment that you do not want them to contact you via message, email, phone, text or any other means and that you will consider any further communication from them as harassment and deal with it accordingly.

Re: Dodgy seller

I would not accept Paypal for what is effectively a pick up item. Cash on the knocker after inspection.

I would not buy from a seller who was daft enough to accept Paypal for a pick up item and I certainly wouldn't be stupid enough to pay with anything other than cash after a full inspection of the item.

There is NO buyer or seller protection for pick up items.

Re: Dodgy seller

you are so very very lucky your Seller refunded the two grand paypal payment.

paying Paypal for a pick up item is just plain silly,  you have absolutely NO protection and if they dont deliver/ or it is faulty when you goto pick it up you have absolutely no way of getting your $$ back.

lucky you that the seller refunded, as you now see, when it comes to delivery he was not reliable, imagine if he was that unreliable AND had all your money!

lucky escape there, nothing dodgy about the seller, just incompetent
