Another question for everyone. I recently bought a press kit online and it was described as brand new. Upon receiving the game I found that there were scratches on one of the discs, wear and tear on the same box in came in and tears on the cardboard. The seller replied claiming it was brad new, and has offered me a refund minus his postage fees when I return the item.
If I open an item not as described case with paypal will I get a full refund? Otherwise it means I will be $13 out of pocket if I have to pay for return postage, and lose out on the $6.60 I paid for postage when I first won the auction. And I think that since he didn't check the item properly and put it as brand new when it wasn't, and didn't mention any of the issues that I shouldn't have to be refunded minus the original postage.
Is paypal likely to refund me the full amount when I return the game? If they side in my favour that is. The seller asked me to return it and that he would refund me minus his postage costs - and this is without a case being opened yet. So I plan to do that first.
I haven't had to go through this before so I have no idea when it comes to getting a refund.
Thanks ๐

I haven't looked at the listing or the seller BUT no matter what you do,you won't receive your return postage costs.
JMO but is it possible to come to an agreement with seller without having to return ie partial refund??

Paypal will expect you to pay return, registered, but when refunded you will receive the original cost of postage as far as I know

I think you misread my question, or I didn't say it clearly enough. I am fine paying return postage, but the seller is saying he does not want to refund the original postage I paid. So it cost $61 + $6.60. And he only wants to refund $61. I am fine paying return postage, but I would expect to be fully refunded?
And I don't think the seller would be in favour of a partial. He is adamant that the press kit was brand new, even though there was clear tear and disc scratches when it arrived to me.

That wasn't my question? My question is if i paid $67.60 for a game including postage. And I pay for return postage, will i receive a refund for $67.60?
I am 100% fine paying for return postage.

the*bear*is*back is correct - a PayPal dispute, if decided in your favour, will mean a refund of the original payment in full once the item is returned.

Ipede,JMO but why would you leave yourself out of pocket X amount of money if seller is offering $61 without returning?
Or am I reading this wrong?

The seller originally offered $61 once the game was returned back to him. We have since come to an agreement and I have been refunded the full amount, and i will be returning the game on monday.

You seem to be having a lot of bad luck buying games online..
This is the 3rd (I think) thread where you have had problems with games..
