Ebay item link hijack

Can anyone confirm this link has been hijaked as it seems to get re-directed and going to a scam site depending on what computer I am on.

it gets redirected to

http://www.cgi2.support/view.ebay.com.au/eBayISAPI.dll/ws1/ViewItem.php?token=1e0aa1c64765d71cbd95fe...

I have contacted ebay twice but they are useless and slow and never responded

Re: Ebay item link hijack

Obviously a scam, I have no comment to make on the link being hi-jacked as there is no way I am clicking on a suspicious link. Have you reported it using the report button and/or have you rung ebay and told them about it?

Ditto, I would suggest you Ring ebay and speak to a Supervisor & give them all the details.  Let them deal with it.

Re: Ebay item link hijack

Interesting one!

Most of his listings re-direct - but only the high-dollar items (ie: cars). They redirect to pages under a different seller ID (which supposedly has a feedback score of 4544) was created on February 17th, and lists no items for sale.

The car listings themselves seem to be lifted from a particular eBay seller, who's a Melbourne car dealer (name listed in the info, and who did used to have quite a lot of cars listed on eBay - I've viewed many of his listings over the last couple of years).

The car dealer's listings under his own ID appear to have dried up. Many of the vehicles in the scam listings are listed on his own website.

Re: Ebay item link hijack

Agree with putney - sorry OP - you mean well but I have reported to remove the live links........

new eBayers may open these and end up with more problems than just a scam seller

Re: Ebay item link hijack

As it happens, the seller's items are no longer re-directing to the scam pages, and the scam link posted in the OP no longer works...

In the finest tradition of letting scammers know someone's onto them, I contacted the "real" seller, and told him what was going on. I then got in touch with the car dealer who has the cars for sale (on his own website), and politely pointed out that "someone" was trying a scam, that it had been reported, etc. His business has a Facebook page, so that's where I posted it - nice and public.

Next day, everything's kosher again. Pure coincidence, I'm sure...
