Hmmm. I am trying to search for decking footings. Ebay keeps changing my search to decking fittings. If I wanted fittings I'd freaking search for fittings instead of footings. Deck Stumps gets changed to deck stamps!!!! STOP IT! I KNOW WHAT I WANT!!!
Very frustrating...

When ebay mucks me around like that (yes it is frustrating!!) I simply click on "Return to original search". Is that what you mean? Try it if you haven't.

They don't CHANGE your search, they use a drop down of suggestions like google does-simply continue typing in exactly what you want to look for so the page doesn't go to the suggested search.

"0 results found for decking footings, so we searched for decking fittings"
There are no listings for decking footings

Foxy, we must be thinking of different things. I have certainly experienced typing certain words into my search and ebay changes it. The only way I have found (maybe there are others) to 'force' it to accept MY words and MY spelling is to click on Return to original search. It does not always happen but when it does it is frustrating.

With my own experience I would liken it to "auto correct" that phone users talk about (can't test it as I don't have a modern phone that has this quirk)

Foxy - it does change the letters as you type them. It was sending me around the bend so l watched it as l typed. The search changed the letters as l were going along.
Sure, l can click on the bottom option of 'hide suggestions' but you have to do that with each search. Awlfully annoying (and moreso that Home and Garden still takes you to Health and Beauty).
