Let's try this again.
New 7.5" 7 inch Carry Case/Bag for Portable In-Car DVD player NO PAYPAL ACCEPTED
Unbelievable.

That seller is actually not doing anything wrong. :8}
They accept Paymate, not PayPal, and the title is just giving buyers a heads up - probably because they've had problems with buyers not seeing it until after they purchased and went to pay.

I should change the title to
Sellers not reading other experienced sellers listings properly :^O
I honestly didn't even notice the paymate! I wanted that case too but want to pay with PayPal, dammit lol

I don't know if it will make you feel any better, but you're not the first and probably won't be the last... ;\
I don't think Paymate is as bad as the rep it gets around here. It's a method of paying just like PayPal (in that your card details aren't given to the seller, as you have to use a CC), and offers protection. It does have its limitations, but if you're buying from a reputable seller, it probably should be as scary as it seems.

Late night lack of proof reading... :^O

I wonder how many people who use eBay actually have a Paymate account?
I don't, and I refuse to pay by bank transfer, so I would be unable to buy off this seller.
But I had an auction finish last night and 6 of my 19 items that sold were all paid by bank deposit - so roughly a third - which indicates that a fair few people do pay in this manner...
Wonder if it's the seller's way of encouraging bank deposit rather than attracting pay pal or paymate fees kind of thing.....
If it is, I wonder if they would lose more customers than the money saved would warrant, but as they are doing nothing wrong, it's their call I guess.

Exactly how it should be for a pick up only item Belinda. 🙂
Paypal offers no protection on pick ups
