I am leaving because Ebay is a criminal organization that Knowingly allows the listing and sale of fake goods. There are no excuses it is FRAUD by the seller AND Ebay.

See ya
eBay do not vet lisitngs
eBay do not have staff with any kind of training to know if goods are fake or not
Every listing states selling is responsible for all listings
Curious you do not place any blame at all on buyers who are helping keep these sellers in business
And you feel the need to tell other members you are leaving
eBay do not read here and have no idea if you use the site or not

You should probably be a tad more careful about what you put in writing. Accusing anyone of being criminal and committing fraud is fraught with danger. With no proof of those allegations, your post constitutes libel.
Farewell, and good luck with your future endeavours.

eBay is flooded with counterfeit, fake items which eBay do very little about and in many categories, Chinese Sellers are the worst.
eBay can no longer say they're "just a buying and selling site" as with the introduction of managed payments, and let's not forget the interest eBay earns while holding sellers' money, seller performance metrics and shipping labels to name just a few things, it's much more than that.
They offer the eBay Money Back Guarantee but in the case of fakes, buyers often find it hard to get the "real proof"
eg: On official letterhead..... so they give up . eBay makes money on that.
And let's not forget how these Chinese sellers of fakes are hurting OUR AUSTRALIAN sellers, by lying and cheating their way to the top of a search page, pushing our sellers lower in a search.
Only sellers who have to compete with fraudulent sellers will understand the following thread.

Buyers leave which in turn, hurts ALL sellers

This does not constitute ' libel ' - that went out the window when - slander & libel - came under ' defamation ' - in Australian Law.
And - given - George would have to prove criminal intent - good luck with that.

I wouldn't say ebay itself is a criminal organisation but for sure it turns a blind eye to a lot of things.
As Casey said, a lot of the fake goods are coming out of China. The thing is, Chinese law and Australian law aren't one and the same. It seems in China, it is quite legal to copy anything, steal photos from the genuine websites etc
And let's face it, ebay is a big business and big businesses will only do what they legally have to do.
They have a money back guarantee but if you get something fake, you'd be better off making a claim to ebay on the basis it didn't match the description in the ad or was faulty, rather than trying to prove fake.
If you do decide to occasionally pop into ebay, do what i do.
Be very careful what you buy. Don't buy stuff that needs a warranty, even if it is listed by an Australian seller.
Most warranties mentioned in ads are useless too.
Check out the seller-their location and feedback.
Try to buy from Australian sellers with an overall good record, though small sellers of second hand goods can be quite good value.
Just be careful, here on ebay or anywhere else. There are a lot of businesses (on ebay and elsewhere) trying to pass themselves off as Australian so you need to check things out before you commit to buy.

The ongoing trade spat between the US and China has a few points of interest being made ragarding what's a fake and the misrepresentation of where a item is made. I was watching a China maker of women's kuxury accessories saying that they make, on oder from Europe, items, say for $600, Then the order is shipped it to Europe where a brand logo and a 'Made in Europe' sticker is attached. The final price of the item? $35,000.

Wow, that is some cheeky mark up!
What on earth were the products?
I did read something recently about how some designer handbags are made in China then supplied to the company and it is the brand logo that adds to the price.
I can believe it.
I have a theory that price matters & makes a difference to the quality you will get-but only up to a certain point. After that, you're paying for brand name or rarity or something else.

Strong words. How would you expect eBay to Police everything? Sometimes even experts can be fooled. Sometimes Sellers believe the item is real and they have been fooled. What are you buying and from where? Why would you buy designer goods on here without physically inspecting them in person? It is buyer beware after all. I could have bought a designer handbag in the local shopping centre from an Asian pop-up store, only $10. However, realized I could be making myself a target for thieves who may think it is real and I am rich. Nobody will notice or care that you are leaving eBay. You are cutting off your nose to spite your face. Ebay is a great place to buy stuff, but not everybody in this world is honest, and that applies to physical stores as well.
