Well I bought an airconditioner last week, because I am moving into a small HOT unit while my house is built
I'm a single mum, I took my two year old on a long drive to collect the unit.. but I was early.. and she paniced the unit had not "warmed up" .. huh.. silly me, isn't it sposed to cool down!?
So.. anyway.. seemed like a nice lady, in the most exclusive suburb of Mellbourne, in a luxury house!
She was stressed she was late for swimming lessons.. and being a mum myself.. I understood that and told her not to worry.. let's move it! UGH!! so trusting I am!
Well... Packing up my house.. two story... and i couldn't bear the heat upstairs anymore.. so I got someone to carry the 50kg unit up my stairs for me..
Fired it up. and it heated the room from 24 degrees to 32 !!!
I restarted it 8 times, and after blowing cold air for two minutes - started blowing hot air. - then either shut down or displayed an error message.
8 times.. I think is a pretty committed effort!
well, you know.. if there's a problem- you message the seller, be nice about it.. and most of the time, they are nice about it, apologise.. offer a refund if you bring it back.. and even though it cost you in time and petrol.. you do it.. and it's all good!!
Not this lady!!!!!
She told me I got a bargain!!!!!!!??????????? Do you know anyone who buys non working aircons in the middle of Summer?? I don't !???
and that I should get it serviced..
WELL!! I wasn't happy with that.
So them she got her hubby on, who called me a liar??? ?
It's long long story ..but...Turns out these people are multiple account kinds.. who repeatedly do this.. then use a new email address. to start afresh and get positive feedback.
I sweltered today and yesterday.. I'm so upset.. and now I have been blocked!!
I can publish the facebook address, and the user.. and the phone number and the personal address....
Are people so stupid.. in a multi million house.. to heckle over a coupld of hundred....??
Must be!

Unfortunately because it was a pick-up item you have no buyer protection on it, you should have tested it before taking it away,
and if the seller wasn't prepared to let you do that then walk away anyway.
All you can do is leave factual feedback to reflect how the transaction was and mark the description stars down.

I can understand that your frustrated & angry. I would do what padi suggested. I would not go onto facebook and name them there. They have your details also dont forget. It could turn quite ugly and backfire and give you more grief than you need.

I've been wondering horizon are air conditioners like fridges where if you lay them flat it can cause problems until the gas settles?
If so it may be a simple job to fix the unit - even leaving it stand upright for a day or so then fire it back up again might just do the trick.

minx, here's a couple of sites that may help you fix your aircon unit if letting it stand for a day doesn't help :-

Looks like feedback was already left. I guess the OP could leave a follow up feedback message, but looks like a defect is out of the question.
