Not particularly answering Tippy, just that hers was the last post and easiest to click.Smiley Happy

I am sure 90 days feedback time would help a minority of buyers and obviously there is the occasional call for it as we have seen multiple threads on the topic. I wouldn't mind at all if ebay reverted back to 90 days.

But I don't know that it is a big enough issue to be on ebay's radar as something they need to tinker with and no matter what our opinions, what it comes down to is what ebay perceives the situation to be. It's not that easy to get your opinion to them. I am sure you can send messages but I doubt they would get passed on. I think I saw on this forum once a note someone got that said ebay did not seek individual suggestions. I think they gather that sort of thing from surveys so it is probably worth bringing it up in a survey if ever the chance arises and it is a topic that matters to you.

I thought Lyndal's suggestion was a good compromise in the meantime, to leave feedback if time looked like running out and leave follow up feedback later if the item arrived etc

What % of buyers leave feedback these days I have no idea really. Back when we sold, it was maybe about 50% or slightly higher, we never actually worked it out but I know it was well under the 100% in any case.

I usually like to leave it and i like to check out a seller's feedback before I buy so I do think feedback can have a role to play and can be useful.

But I still believe if someone is giving feedback after the 2 month mark, then it is more likely to be a neg. I know you'd get the exceptions, some buyers who bought from overseas and whose goods were delayed. But I think the majority of feedback in month 3 would be neg-for something delayed or something that broke and a buyer who never normally gave feedback might come in to complain. In fact, I'd suspect that could be why ebay cut the time down a bit in the first place.

Leave a comment within the time frame even if the item has not arrived and then use the Followup function to leave an additional comment when the item does arrive.

Simple really.

Someone shouldn't have to resort to that lyndal1838. The fact that you have suggested this is a strong indication that the 2 months (60 DAYS)  is not enough in a world that is now unstable. This does make valid case, yet another for a rrestoration to pre-May 2008 TTLFB of 90 days. We have had muliple threads about the time being too short irecently.

How is my suggestion indication that 2 months is not enough time for feedback?

It is just a solution for those buyers who have so many problems that it is an issue.

I have left over 13000 feedback in my time on ebay and only twice have I used this option because of lack of time.

And in case you are wondering, the followup feedback option is available forever....I have the option to leave it as far back as my very first ebay purchase.

Firstly the name is 4channel, not 4chan and you've been told that in the past.

I’d like to know why it is not okay for others to use an abbreviated version of your ID yet you abbreviate other member’s IDs often? For example, on this thread you use ‘padi’ when that is a shortened version of his full ID.

maybe 4channel doesn't want to be associated with 4chan? In which case it would be easy enough to change his ID to whatever is the current chan(nel). Or fred.
